Focus Features is the art house films division of NBCUniversal, and acts as both a producer and distributor for its own films and a distributor for foreign films. Focus Features produced 'One Day' which was highly successful, this film parallels our genre of dramatic romance. It also uses time to portray the plot, Absence also abides by this. Therefore, Absence would most likely be distributed by a company like Focus Features. It has distributed films that have similar genre in the past, these include, Brokeback Mountain, Lost in Translation and Pride and Prejudice. Focus Features have had a total of $1,269,056,759 box office income.
